I went through the reports from past year's Quinte trips with the club and I pasted them inclusively here...
Bay of Quinte November 14-16, 2008
The Annual Strait Line Anglers Club fall Bay of Quinte Walleye trip brought five boats and 13 guys to Merland Park Cottages for a chance at a trophy walleye.
The weather on friday started the weekend with great conditions. Warm sunny and light winds made it pleasent during our jigging tournament. The objective of the tournament was to weighin four walleye's under the 24.8 inch mark or only one over the 24.8 inch mark.
Slowly jigging or dragging castmasters along the bottom in the deep hole at Thompson's Point. Also White perch on 3 inch Gulp Minnows on drop shot were in the same area. Yellow Perch were numerous in the shallow.
The white perch were an indication of the colour Grey Ghost in Mann's Stretch 20 might be a good one. None in the tacklebox to try trolling on Saturday.
The weather on Saturday turned wet. A fast approaching cold front was pushing a heavy low pressure in front of it that contained a great deal of rain. It remained warm throughout the entire day and the rain was steady throughout the day. Winds were light from the south and then from the east south east.
Walleye bite was on. Boats between the bait cave to keith's shoal could be seen taking fish regularily.
Ron Arnold and I worked a trolling stretch just past the lighthouse on the north side, that was loaded with bait. Fish could be seen throughout the depths but the majority were around 50-60 feet down over 110 FOW.
Our pattern that got all four of our rods working went like this...
Three rods on inline planerboards with leads that were consistently set at 200 ft back using deep diving body baits that were making 35 ft depths. The fourth rod was a deeper set that used three colours of leadcore with a 35 tf mono leader and off the inline boards.
Baits that worked were...
Rapala Taildancer 11 30ft.PD-Purpledescent
Mann's Stretch 20, in Firetiger/Purple back (custom), Original Colour before Purple added to back
Mann's Stretch 20, Doctor Death
Yo-zuri in Crystal Minnow in Deep Diver Sardine Colour Chart
Other boats reported the best colours as
Silver and Black back
Blueberry Muffin
Yellow Perch Crystaglow
Grey Ghost Crystaglow
and Reef runner 900 Ripstick in Purple Barenaked.
1.6-1.8 mph was the best for us, but some teams found 1.8-2 mph good.
Our biggest was 10 lbs 1 oz.
I can't wait for our next trip.

Quinte Fall Trip-Nov 9-11, 2007

Got back from Quinte trip yesterday. Tough bite all weekend. Water temp is still 50'F. I fished with Kevin Hampson in his boat. Thanks Kevin!
The winds were strong on Friday and Saturday out of the East (straight down the Adulphous) 4 footers on Saturday! Tough to steer the boat with a drift sock to try to slow us down. Kevin and I got 5 all weekend. Biggest was 8.9 lbs.
Trolling...
Most of the fish were caught between Keith's Shoal and the Light House all the way up to past the bat cave. There was a pod of fish that attracted way too many boats about a mile east of the ferry on the south side. Good catches were there during the week, but too many boats on Saturday -killed the spot. The charter guys stayed away from the boats and fished the one-rod-per-person area west of the ferry and concentrated north of the Cement Plant to Thompson's Point in 45 FOW. Kevin and I caught our biggest (not very big by Quinte standards) fish there on Saturday- LOTS of fish on the screen there. Hard to run only two rods- you want to run four- but you can't. Roy Young (White Lightning), Kim Poirier and Darrel Day teamed up together and managed five fish on Friday which included the largest of the trip at 12 lbs 6 oz. And another five fish on Saturday out past the bat cave.
The winners of our Saturday club derby was Klaus Bokma, Jason Bokma and Terry Day with a good day on Saturday with 5 fish. They also caught the first place biggest Walleye at 9.9 lbs and second place with a 8.9 lbs.
Fish DEEP- man everyone says keep those bait in the top 25 feet of water- well if we did this weekend, we would have went home with nothing. Long leads and snap weights needed to get baits in the 40-50 zone to catch any fish. Yes they come up with eye's poping out and air bladder in the throat, but the few fish caught ended up in the box anyway for the fillet knife. Kevin and I ran baits up high on Friday and Saturday- poor results. On Sunday morning we ran one board rod with Mann's Stretch 20 150 ft back then 5 oz weight and then back another 50 feet to the board. It went off in the first hour. I duplicated the same set up on another board and it went off. High boards didn't get touched. We did 1.4- 1.7mph but lots of guys doing around 2 mph.
Rapala Tail Dancer Silver Blue, Gold Perch, Clown (the big numbers from guys from States during the week).
Mann's Stretch 20 Firetiger with Purple top, Blue Silver and Green.
Jigging...
The real story was what Joe Williamson (Trophy Taker) and Roy, Kim and Darrel did on Sunday morning. They jigged for walleyes at Thompson's Point in 40 feet ont he drop off out to 50 feet and managed 10 fish on Castmaster jigging spoons in silver and gold. Kim took one that went 10 lbs! but mostly small eater sized fish. Kim, Darrel and Roy stayed out so I don't know how many more fish they caught, but if I were you, bring the jigging rods to get some fish if the trolling is still slow.
Hopefully some other reports from the other guys will follow this thread. I have likely missed out on something.

Bay of Quinte Nov 7-9, 2006 trip
John Poirier and I fished in Adrian’s new boat. The Friday the sun was shining, warm, winds were light out of the west and we managed three fish between the Bat Cave and Keiths Shoal. Large Yosuri Black/Silver with added purple stripe along the side, 175 ft back off board took the biggest at 9 lbs, the other two were around 4-5 lbs and came on Dr Death Mann’s Stretch 20.
On the Saturday, the weather became miserable with temps just above zero and rain blown sideways at a down pour for most of the day. We were soaked all the way through. It was also tough fishing with only one fish on and lost. Joe Williamson managed the best box between the group.
Joe Williamson did well with long leads infront of the bat cave Mann’s stretch 20 and 25 on 200 plus ft leads off the boards.
Kim and Darrell Day managed four fish and their best lure was Mann’s Stretch 25 in a bright green colour on long leads. Joe’s boat managed the biggest bag, but only slightly over Kim and Darrell’s box. .
Sunday the rain subsided, but still was coming down and the winds were strong out of the east and went down over the course of the morning. We managed two small walleye on Fastrac green top/chartrous sides with black dots on 3 colour leadcore straight out the back of the boat with 3 oz of weight and out to 225 ft.
Kim and Roy stayed longer on Sunday and went jigging and did really well off Thompson’s point. Castmaster spoons.

12 of us headed up for the weekend at Merland Park in Picton. Reports of slow fishing were everywhere and our results were not too far off.
Friday we had a sunny day with moderate to strong westerlies. Out of 5 boats we managed 1 walleye.
Saturday we had a little one day tournament between the five boats where you had to bring in two over the 24.8 inch mark and one under.
Joe Williamson brought in a 13 lbs brute and another around 10 and he was also able to get one under the 24.8" mark. So him and his team won it. Kim and Darrell also boated two nice fish that were just under 12 lbs. There was 11 fish caught between 5 boats.
On Sunday morning before hitting the highway, we had a mini big fish derby and the winds were just starting to get really strong out of the South. At least is was across the reach and not down it. It was tough to get good boat control in the wind. Adrian took the biggest of the morning with one just a tick under 10 lbs - released to spawn again.
Fingerlings, Manns Stretch 20 and 25, and Rapala Taildancers. Colours were all over the chart and the depths the lures ran at, varied. More importantly was presenting them at a steady/right speed. Your boards had to work smooth in the rough chop with little bounce on the board line. Bungies helped, but the better the board. the better the presentation. It took our boat 1 1/2 days to finally get that right. 1.9 -2.1 mph was the ticket. On Sunday we even got one going 2.4 mph. Friday we were trolling too slow.
Leadcore with 35' of mono leader two colours and some added weight (3 oz) and let out enough to read 200' on the counter. This rod set up accounted for a few fish and it ran directly behind the boat. We also had another core rod set up with one colour and let out 300' of line to duplicate and that managed one fish this weekend. Board rods were 10 lbs test PLine Xtra Strong. with leads around 130 - 150 gettting bites. Joe was stretching those lines out to 200' and longer and getting more bites.
Can't wait to go up next year. love to try it once more this fall, but smallmouths this weekend and then the steelheading the lower in a few weeks.
Hard to leave Niagara when we got it so good!
