PCDCC is working hard to bring back the walleye stocks in the Welland River. The Welland River starts it's headwaters in Ancaster near Garner Rd with a large portion of it running past the Hamilton International Airport and then down into Binbrook conservation Area's Lake Niapenco. Then it continues to meander it way through miles of agricultural land until it meets the obstruction of the Welland Canal. Large channels funnel the Welland River water under the canal and further downstream to to what we call Chippawa Creek. MNR Vineland Office suggests that through fish sampling fish populations and water quality improvements via the Welland River Remedial Action Plan is working along with the PCDCC's stocking efforts to bring back the walleye populations. The MNR suggests that a selfstaining naturally reproducing Walleye population is only a decade or two away! Check out this link to the Welland Tribune newspaper for more... www.wellandtribune.ca/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=1634348Here's the PCDCC comments on stocking efforts... I’m please to say that this past Sunday our walleye stocking went perfectly. This year we went for size rather than numbers, and we saw numerous 4-6 inch walleye go into the Welland River. Special guests this year were Walter Oster and John Howard from the Canadian National Sportsmen’s Show Board of Directors. I’ve attached a few photos, as well as a link to an article in the Welland Tribune. Shane

I can personally vouch for this Shane, the tank they are talking about came from my buisness, had a great conversation with them. Also two Sundays ago me and a buddy fished the welland river near Wellandport and I caught a 5 pound Wally. We only caught the one but it is a start. I fish that part of the river often, usually for Crappie.
Oh Ya a quick weigh and the Wally was released
