Our annual Niagara River Steelhead Derby went on Sat Dec 3. We were met with clearing conditions and greyish green water, nearly 2 feet of visibility in most of the river.
We had 35 anglers signed up for the event. At the 730am blast off, the boats scattered to various sections of the river. as it turned out many of the popular drfts produced trout over the course of the day, with many of the rainbows coming in the upper stretches.
At 2pm, the boats cames out and we lined up for the weigh-in. In the end this what the overall top 3 biggest steelehad of the day were.
Jeff Bondar 12lbs
Bob Sinke 11.45lbs
Richard Brouwer 11.40lbs
Top 3 amongst SLA club members:
Kim Porier 10.85lbs
Gerald Kostier 9.70lbs
Shane Thombs 8.90lbs
